The building was originally built in the 1890's as a single story church, with a small wardens residence
at one end. As this is an old building it requires a considerable amount of on-going maintenance, and
consequently about 18 months ago the committee set up a plan of action to address the main areas
for refurbishment :

Phase I

Repair the external N/E wall to prevent egress and internal damp
Supply and fit a new gas boiler
Resite and rebuild the gents toilets
Repoint various severely weathered walls at the rear of the building
Construct a substantial wooden fence at the rear of the building
Replace the wooden guttering at the front of the building and undertake various roofing repairs
Erect 2 sheds for auxiliary storage

Phase II

Extend the kitchen externally by 140 sq. ft.
Refurbish the kitchen including new cupboards, kitchen equipment and white goods and relay the flooring
Phase III

Refurbish and modernise the main hall
Install a new ceiling and lighting
Re-plaster and re-decorate throughout
Replace the flooring in all areas

Phase I has recently been completed at a cost of over £9000, and the committee are now planning to
fundraise for phase II and phase III. We are presently looking for quotes for the above work in both
phases II and III.
